How to wear a baby? What clothes to choose and how to prepare them for wearing. The most common mistakes moms when dressing kids.
Young mommies often buy children’s clothes in large quantities, without even thinking about whether they really need them. Will the baby feel comfortable in it, does she have a good breath and how comfortable is it to put on and take off? Let’s look at the most common mistakes of young parents when buying children’s things.
A lot of clothes
You always want to dress your child as warm as possible – especially in winter, when it is cold outside. Meanwhile, overheating for children can be much more dangerous than hypothermia. Children’s heat transfer is different from an adult, so in winter, when dressing babies, you should follow the simple rule: we dress the child as ourselves, plus an extra layer of clothing. To make sure that the baby is not cold, touch his forehead, neck and chest – they should be warm.
Before you put on your baby new clothes – it must be washed. Unfortunately, many parents neglect this rule, but in vain. Clothes in warehouses and store shelves are dusty and exposed to chemicals used to clean the room. On the skin of the child may cause irritation or an allergic reaction, so you need to wash every new thing. Yes, and clothes after washing becomes softer and more pleasant to the touch.
Things from synthetics can be very beautiful, but they do not allow air and moisture, and they are not recommended to be worn by adults or children. If a child sweats in such clothes, then even the slightest breeze can lead him to a cold.
Small details on clothes
Badly sewn buttons, loose beads and sequins – all this can easily be in the child’s mouth. Before you put on a baby’s new clothes, you must carefully check its strength, and if you have any doubts, unpick or remove small details on your own. Or choose another model in the store.
High or narrow collar
It is difficult to put on and take off clothes with a high collar with one hand, and after all we usually support the second child. A too narrow and tight collar can lead to suffocation in sleep. Do not wear babies’ scarves, ties and clothes with a high and tight collar!
Lack of headgear
Newborns lose more than half the heat of their body through an uncovered head. Even if the room is warm, the child should wear a hat or cap. And even more so it should be done with a draft or if the room is cool. Headgear is needed at least until the child is two or three months old, especially for premature babies.
Tags and labels on clothes can rub baby’s tender skin. It would be better if you cut them off immediately after purchase, before washing.
Clothes are not in size
If a child’s clothes are small or large, it’s better not to wear them. Even if you like this thing very much. Clothes of too large size can cover a baby’s face in a dream, and too small clothes can rub skin and pinch blood vessels.
Footwear for babies
Children’s shoes look very beautiful, but you should only buy them after the baby has started to walk. Up to this point it is better to do booties or just socks, so as not to fix the leg of the child in a stationary state.
The main rule when buying clothes for kids – the simpler the better. Many extra details and stitches can cause discomfort to the infant. Fashionable clothes are good, but everything has its time.
